Lake Okeechobee is one of the most exciting places to fish in Florida. It covers 467,000 acres and is
considered the "Mother of the Everglades" it is second largest lake entirely within the Lower 48. The
Seminole Indian words"oki" (water) and "chubi" (big) correctly describe it.
Largemouth Bass, Black Crappy (Speckled Perch), Bluegill, Redear (Shellcracker) are the dominant species
Most crappie fishing efforts occur during the winter. Largemouth Bass, Bluegill and Shellcracker fishing is good all year. Lake Okeechobee has a great population of Ducks and is well known for it's Duck Hunting.
I have been fishing and hunting Lake Okeechobee and surrounding areas including the Everglades for
over fifty years. We offer both artificial and live bait trips or combination of both . Live wild shiners are the best for catching bigger fish!
